Why wait for an undetermined date of release for season five when you can stream season six straight from the islands broadcast centre? You wouldn’t believe me if i told you the Harlem Globetrotters put them up to one of their biggest challenges yet. It’s all so exciting to watch it all unfold.

To the 20-some people who have already written a review of the Season 5 LOST set – How? You have no idea what’s on the DVDs! What is their picture quality? What are the bonus features? What is the audio quality? Are all of the special episodes included?
Anyone who would buy the set has already seen the broadcast episodes. They liked them, or they wouldn’t be buying the set.It’s irresponsible to give rave reviews of something you’ve never seen, though – and nobody HAS seen this set yet. Let’s wait until the set is actually released, OK?

There are blogs and forums to review shows, this is a product review not a show review FAIL. There are spammers on here who do get paid to write some of those ridiculously long epic reviews of how great something is before it gets released ( You know who you are). I loved the first four seasons. Lost was always interesting (or at least when it occassionally ran off track it would JOLT you back into caring). But once it started into the time-traveling, everything just started spiraling out of control. Once you bring time travel in, then nothing matters any more. Anything is possible and so everything becomes immediately uninteresting.
There was really nothing I found very interesting or exciting about the entire season. Nothing until Sayid shot young Ben. I was shocked and entertained at that…for about 30 seconds…before I said to myself “…wait, wait…he BETTER have actually died!” Of course he didn’t, even though, of all people, Sayid should have been able to stop that kid’s heart from beating. So even the one thing that could have been the “Oh my god!”, season-making moment (think Locke being thrown out the building), didn’t happen. It was just smoke and mirrors.
So much of the season was just time-traveling around randomly so we could have nostalgic looks down memory lane. For example, Jin meeting a young Rousseau…for no reason, et.al.
Then we’ve got the ridiculous, contrived relationship between Sawyer and Juliet. Is ANYONE actually buying this? Totally, totally lame.
And now Locke is a reincarnated ancient god, who just killed another god. Or not. Or something.
And oh my god! Juliet just sacrificed herself! Or maybe not. So who cares any more.
Who. Cares. I watched this show for 5 years under the assumption that there would be a huge pay-off at the end, justifying my investment in all the mysteries and so on. Now it would make as much sense for E.T. and Harry Potter to show up in the final season.
When the 6th ends…the Internet is going to be a damn firestorm of hate. Guaranteed. Well, Im glad I’ll be one of the few able to laugh at the whole mess.

The old Stealers Wheel song would have been perfect for this season. Talk about a monumental struggle, it feels like that keeping this series afloat. The writers have resorted to filling in the gaps now that they have one more season in the making, resulting in what essentially amounts to a prequel rather than a continuation of the storylines from the previous four seasons. It wouldn’t have been so bad if the writers provided new and juicy information, instead they play previous scenes over from different angles and offer up pathetic episodes like The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham that should have been left on the cutting room floor. However, in later episodes death appears to suit Mr. Bentham well.
Things pick up in episode 10 (He’s Our You) when Sayid makes his return, if you’ve managed to gut it out this long. Of course, if you are up to the fifth season you can’t stop now no matter how sloppy the episodes become. Sayid’s confrontation with Young Ben was well done and the happy little world that “Jim LaFleur” and Juliet have built for themselves in “Dharmaville” takes an adventurous turn for the worse. But, let’s face it, this season amounted to little more than backfilling, adding worthless new characters and biding time rather than furthering the action. Not even a gripping season finale could save this season. Let’s get it over with!
