I loved this show and the actresses that made it happen. I blame television for moving the show from one night to another making it difficult to remember what night it was airing thus losing audiences. I don’t think the series was given a chance.

  3. This brilliant show should not have been cancelled. We loved it and it had everything going for it?? Why don’t networks give us what we want ! Men in trees, lipstick jungle to name but a few were victim to the studio pulling the plug , when other series slip through.Since when was humour ,intelligence and female leads a bad thing.Sex and the city and grey’s anatomy have so much in common with these men in trees and lipstick jungle only they were given a chance to grow and the actors and writers a chance to show their potential. We don’t need reality shows we need more o these shows. Bring them back .!

I think the second season is better than the first. I think lipstick jungle was an awesome show. Yes, Brooke Shields is definitely not the best actress but you still love her. Each episode draws you into their world. I think it is such a shame it had to end. It’s worth buying both season’s you definitely cannot not see season 2 without watching how it all started. There’s drama, comedy and some eye candy. It’s a must see!

This season gave the writers a little more time to flesh out the characters and I’m sorry that the show got canceled before it could truly get off the ground.

I enjoyed the Brooke Shields’ character & storyline the most and thought that she was great in the role of a woman who defined herself by her career only to lose it. The side stories of her husband’s career rebirth & daughter’s rebellion were a little predictable but somewhat interesting.

I was most surprised by how much I liked the character, Nico as portrayed by Kim Raver. I’ve commented before about my dislike for her on other shows but she was excellent on this show as the driven magazine editor who discovers an unpleasant secret about her husband after he suffers a heart attack. Her journey of discovery as an older woman in a relationship with a younger man and subsequent attraction to her boss made me anticipate what was going to happen in her life.

I also grew to like Lindsey Price in her portrayal of struggling designer, Victory Ford. I found myself rooting for her as she struggled to regain her good name in the fickle fashion industry. I did not however care about her love life as the actress had no chemistry with either leading man she was paired with so I found myself fast forwarding through those scenes – especially those with Andrew McCarthy.

All in all, I liked this series as brief as it was and would recommend purchasing it – especially given the reasonable price point.
