If the fourth season of Bones on DVD gets off to a slightly jumpy start, it’s because the first four episodes are missing. They were actually included as a bonus feature on the third season’s boxed set, in an effort to pad that truncated season. (However, the Blu-ray version of the fourth season does include all … More >>

..then this is a decent option. Well in this case if you are going to purchase a collection from a TV show, this is not a bad idea. I admit that I do not usually watch TV, it is rare, and when I do it is because someone who I am hanging out with is watching TV. I have seen enough of this show though to tell you some details, and unlike the rest of the reviews thus far for this collection, I am not giving this 5 stars, but that is obvious anyhow.

Some episodes bored me to death, others were somewhat entertaining. There is a mix of genres on here, and some interesting twists and turns. The characters are notable, they vary and add more substance to the other characters which is definitely a positive thing. I don’t find the ‘relationship’ between Bones and Seeley to be that interesting, it is actually annoying to watch their chemistry most of the time and the subtle humor entailed is not humorous at all to me.

Here are some details about the characters..

Bones – A forensic anthropologist that appears like she has a stick stuck up her butt 24/7. How witty is it that she examines bones and is called bones, and the show is called bones as well. She is somewhat mundane and annoying to watch.

Booth – Enlightened at times daft at others, on a turn of a dime. He has a little crush on Bones and this is seen by the way he looks at her and his general actions throughout the series.

Angela – She is the slut of the group. I don’t know much else to say about her, other than she has been around the block and back a few times. When she is not in the lab or not in a scene, she is probably off somewhere having sex with someone she met sometime..

Hodgins – This is the dork of the group. This guy is extremely intelligent. He strikes me as the most intelligent of any character on this show. He is attracted to Angela, and it is interesting since they just don’t match up. They are both intelligent but he does not seem as much as a nympho as his crush. He has had sex with Angela *who hasn’t* and it is shown in one scene, they are in a bed talking afterwards. This scene shows how he wants committment and she is not ready for it.

Sweets – This guy is a psychologist and is actually more of a dork than Hodgins. He is entertaining to watch though since no matter what he seems to always be working his psychologic magic.

My wife would easily give this show 5 stars like 99% of the world, but I cannot bring myself to it. It is not a bad show, but I am not drawn in and it gets monotonous at times.

  2. My wife likes this show for some reaason, but the plots are either over the top or lame. But thats not where my beef is. The plot holes or plot craters in this case are terrible. One episode “Bones” notices that a skeleton wasn’t near electric by looking at it. ???? I work in the medical field, its not even something you can test. Radition maybe, but electric? It takes the moron five minutes to realize that the skeleton was quaker, but then new all the traditions of a quaker. This crud, along with poor character, and terrible acting(I mean the worst on TV.I think Gary Unmarried has better actors) make this pure mindless dreck. The worst on TV. Steriotyping and popular topics are more of a concern then how they figure out a case. You people who like this, enjoy your fantasy land with terrible actors. So those who like a mystery with sense. Look somewhere else.

  3. The DVD you shipped is misssing the first 4 episodes of episodes of this Season Four. The DVD begins with “The Perfect Pieces in the Purple Pond” but does not have:

    1. Yanks in the UK (1)

    2. Yanks in the UK (2)

    3. Man in the Outhouse

    4. The Finger in the Nest

I Called and you replaced the DVD with a DVD that was identical, also missing these four episodes. I called and the customer service rep had no answers.

    What do I do now?

I received this product very quickly, but the first disc was scratched. I order a lot of DVDs from Amazon and this is the very first one that was scratched. I think it just happens sometimes during shipping.

i have been following David from Buffy to Angel and now here to Bones.

    his is the only calendar i put up in my dining room every year! {fyi}

the first 3 seasons are fabulous and season four has outdone 3.

the writers continually step up their game in order to keep us interested and on the edge of our seats.

the final episode of season 4 is the long-awaited get-together connection between Brennen and Booth.

his statement when he came out of his coma was shocking, tho!!

he dreamed a very beautiful dream.

maybe one that will eventually come true!

c’mon writers, do yourselves and your fans proud on that one!!

Booth made the comment to Brennen in season 3, that ‘they are ALL part the the ‘whole”.

so if one is lost, they would no longer be whole.

it takes all of them to do their jobs to help put the criminals away.

as stated previously and is also public knowledge, Zack is irreplaceable!!

sure, they can bring in forensic anthropologists all day long and some could get to be almost as smart as Zack, but they will never MATCH his skill, knowledge, wit and that special blend of humor that he brings to the show.

i hope Ryan O’Neal will be more of a permanent fixture after this season, as well.

with just losing the love of his life, Farrah Fawcett, it may be good for him to get back to the set where he has friends to help him thru his mourning stage.

from what i personally get from the cast, i feel that they are a sympathetic and loving group and would be reassuring, kind and loving to him and help him make it one day at a time!

i record all episodes on my dvr and watch them without all the commercials, but i can’t wait for the dvds to come out, for i thoroughly enjoy the commentaries that they do.

i only wish they did more of them!

maybe we could petition them to do so.

what do any of y’all think??

get a petition started requesting that they commentary 1/3 to 1/2 of the episodes???

i would pay a few dollars more in order to have them, would y’all?

i love the behind the scenes footage, as well.

it shows the episodes from a different perspective after you see and hear what goes on and how they do it.

it makes any show or movie much more interesting to watch!

    so, . . . who’s with me?

i can be reached at: callmemurph at suddenlink dot net.

if i get enough willing to participate, i’ll get it going and try to find as many BONES fans as i can.

a little help from y’all would be appreciated, too.

i would need all the emails of as many fans that you know, and i’ll make sure they get one to sign, too. or you can send it to them, therefore, their email addy won’t be given to just anybody.

so, could somebody *PLEASE* write me back and tell me if this is a stupid and worthless idea, or is it one that we, the fans, should pursue.

    i guess you could answer my comment here on the page or send me an email after you ‘decode’ my addy. {ha-ha — addy, as in Zack Addy!!}

i hope to hear from y’all soon so maybe season 5 will have more of what we, the fans, want.

y’all take care and God bless,

    ~lin~
